Moscow has vowed to respond to new strikes by Ukraine against the Russian territory.
The Russian Defense Ministry on Tuesday said Ukraine carried out the strikes on November 23 and 25, using US-supplied Army Tactical Missile System missiles (ATACMS).
The United States gave Ukraine permission to use the long-range missiles to strike targets inside Russian territory earlier this month.
President Volodymyr Zelensky had for months been requesting permission to use the missiles supplied to Kiev by the US-led Western countries.
Tensions between Kiev and Moscow have soared since Washington lifted the prohibition to use long-range missiles inside Russia.
The Russian military said in a post on Telegram on Tuesday, “Retaliatory actions are being prepared.”
President Vladimir Putin said on Friday Russia would continue testing the hypersonic Oreshnik missile it fired at Ukraine a day earlier and begin serial production of the new system.
The Russian military added that the fresh strikes by Ukraine had caused damage to Russian military hardware and wounded some of its personnel on the ground.
A strike on the Kursk Vostochny air base wounded two servicemen, the defense ministry said, while a strike on an air defense battery damaged a radar system and also caused casualties.
US President-elect Donald Trump, who is scheduled to take office in January 2025, has long been critical of the US military aid to Kiev.
During his election campaign, Trump would repeatedly say he intends to end the West's proxy war in Ukraine “in a day.”
