Hezbollah response to aggression
The secretary-general of Lebanon's Hezbollah movement has slammed the Israeli assassination of Hezbollah media chief, Mohamamd Afif, vowing the resistance group's painful response will target central Tel Aviv. Sheikh Naeim Qassem referred to Hezbollah’s capabilities in handling crises, saying after Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah’s assassination, it only took the group 10 days to recover. He hailed resistance steadfastness in the face of Israeli aggression, saying the group’s retaliatory attacks have displaced hundreds of Israelis from their settlements in the north. The Hezbollah chief said despite the chaotic situation in Lebanon, the resistance group will continue supporting Palestinians in Gaza. Qassem recounted Lebanon’s conditions for a ceasefire agreement, calling for a complete end to the Israeli aggression and the protection of the Arab country’s sovereignty. The Lebanese leader, however, noted Hezbollah will continue to defend Lebanon as long as the regime continues its attacks, regardless of the negotiations result.

Censuring anti-Iran resolution
Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has warned western countries that Iran will respond proportionately to any unconstructive actions taken through a resolution at the IAEA Board of Governors meeting. Araghchi issued the warning in a phone call with the IAEA chief, Rafael Grossi. He also referred to Grossi’s recent visit to Tehran, saying it showcased Iran’s goodwill and commitment to enhancing cooperation with the agency. A senior western diplomat, on condition of anonymity, confirmed that Germany, France, and the UK, with the support of the US, have formally submitted their fourth anti-Iran resolution at the IAEA since 2020. The resolution will take to task Iran for what it claims to be lack of cooperation with the UN nuclear watchdog. The move is contrary to over a dozen of reports by the IAEA, confirming the peaceful nature of Iran’s nuclear program. Earlier, in a phone conversation with his French counterpart, Araghchi criticized the latest move by E-3 as counterproductive to the positive atmosphere between Iran and the IAEA.
