Iran Foreign Ministry has separately summoned heads of the British, French, Dutch and German embassies to Tehran to protest “unconstructive remarks” by European officials, accusing Iran of interfering in the Ukraine war and imposing sanctions on Tehran.

Director General of the Western Europe Department at the Iranian Ministry of Affairs Majid Nili Ahmadabadi "strongly condemned the psychological warfare and destructive remarks and actions of certain European parties", the ministry said Thursday.

“The insistence on adopting such positions and measures is viewed in line with the continuation of the West’s hostile policy against the Iranian nation, which of course will be met with the Islamic Republic of Iran’s appropriate response,” Nili Ahmadabadi stated.

On Tuesday, the foreign ministers of the United Kingdom, France and Germany - known as the E3 – issued a statement against what they alleged “Iran’s export and Russia’s procurement of Iranian ballistic missiles.”

They also decided to “cancel bilateral air services agreements with Iran” and announced that they would work towards imposing sanctions against Iran Air, the country’s national airliner.

Nili Ahmadabadi reiterated Iran’s clear stance officially declared regarding the Ukraine war, saying "as previously emphasized, any claim that the Islamic Republic of Iran has sold ballistic missiles to Russia is completely baseless and false".

“America and a number of European allies mention security and peace while they themselves are the source of tension and escalation of crisis in the world by selling deadly weapons, including to the Zionist regime," he said.

"It is natural that they should answer the consequences of their wrong policies."

On Tuesday, The US Treasury and the State Department imposed sanctions on 10 individuals and nine entities based in Iran and Russia.

Included in the sanctions were ships that regularly bring cargo across the Caspian Sea between Iran and Russia, the Treasury said.

France, Germany and Britain said they were canceling air services agreements with Iran and pledged to impose sanctions on Iran Air and those allegedly involved in Iran’s ballistic missile program and providing arms to Russia.

Britain announced seven new sanctions designations under its Iran sanctions regime and three under its Russia regime.

Iran’s mission to the United Nations declared that the country views any military aid to parties involved in the Ukraine conflict, which would exacerbate harm to lives and infrastructure in Ukraine, as inhumane.

"Therefore, not only does it not do so, but also invites other countries to stop sending weapons to the parties involved in the conflict," the mission stated.
