OIC slams Haniyeh's assassination
The Organization of Islamic Cooperation has condemned Israel’s recent assassination of the Hamas political Bureau Chief in Tehran. Member states of the 57-nation bloc slammed the act as a violation of international law and a breach of Iran’s sovereignty in an emergency meeting in the Saudi City of Jeddah. They also called for an enduring ceasefire in Gaza and a permanent solution to the Palestinian issue. The extraordinary meeting of the Executive Committee of OIC Foreign Ministers has been convened at the request of Iran and Pakistan to discuss the repercussions of the Israeli assassination of Haniyeh. Israel’s continued genocide of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip and its aggression against Iran’s sovereignty are high on the agenda of the forum.
Genocidal war on Gaza
It's the 10th month of the genocide in Gaza and more and more Palestinians are falling victim to the Israeli regime’s attacks on the blockaded territory. Tens of civilians were killed and nearly a score injured in a fresh bombing of Gaza city. Meanwhile, a fresh attack in Deir al Balah has forced more Palestinians to move out of the central city. The regime conducted the attack despite earlier declaring the area as a “safe zone.” More Palestinians, including a journalist, lost their lives in the southern city of Khan Yunis when their tents came under attack. The UN humanitarian agency, OCHA has also reported more schools sheltering displaced Gazans have been hit in recent days, resulting in mass casualties. So far, nearly 40,000 people have been killed and over 91,000 others injured since the onset of the war.
Palestinian sexually abused
A leaked video has surfaced which shows Israeli soldiers are sexually abusing a Palestinian detainee in a detention camp in the southern part of the occupied territories. The footage captured by surveillance cameras of the Sde Teiman prison in the Negev desert shows a group of Israeli guards picking a detainee out of more than 30 others, all lying on the ground blindfolded. The video shows the detainee was taken to the corner and occupation forces tried to hide their inhumane act with military shields. An Israeli military court has ordered the arrest of those involved in the sexual abuse. Sde Teiman prison is notorious for torturing Palestinian inmates with electric shocks, sexual violence and starvation. Nearly 10,000 Palestinians are currently held in Israeli jails. About 3,400 of them are held without trial or charges under the so-called administrative detention, a policy that allows the regime to keep Palestinian behind bars for an indefinite period.
