Gaza ceasefire efferts
A senior Palestinian official says indirect negotiations over a Gaza ceasefire deal will resume in the Qatari capital between the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas and the Israeli regime. The official, whose name is not revealed, said that representatives from the US, Israel and Egypt will travel to Doha for the resumption of talks. The representatives include the director of the CIA, the head of the Israeli spy agency Mossad and the Egyptian Intelligence chief. The trio held talks in the Cairo earlier this week. According to the Palestinian official, Hamas demands Israeli forces pull out from the Rafah crossing and the Philadelphi corridor which is situated along the border between Gaza and Egypt. He also pointed out that Hamas has abandoned its demand for a permanent ceasefire as a prerequisite for the truce talks. Earlier, Hamas said that it’s showing flexibility and positivity to facilitate an agreement.

Biden nomination future
In the US, Democratic senators will be meeting Tuesday afternoon for the first time following President Joe Biden’s disastrous debate performance with his Republican rival Donald Trump for the race to the White House. Biden’s future as a presidential nominee remains unclear as several of his allies in the Senate are calling him to step aside. At least 4 House Democratic committee leaders have also said during a call with Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries that Biden should end his 2024 candidacy. The senators have been pushing Biden to prove that he is capable of defeating Trump. The meeting will supposedly determine whether Biden will drop his re-election bid. The 2024 US presidential race is set to be held in November. Voters will be electing a president and vice-president for a four-year term.
