Police in Placer County, California, have located a group of 13 hikers who had been reported missing in the Tahoe National Forest, where the Royal Fire broke out on Sunday.
In a video released on Monday, the Placer County Sheriff's Office said the group was found after search and rescue teams and a helicopter were deployed.
Family members had told the deputies that the hikers, aged between 16 and 20, had planned to trek along the Palisades Creek Trail. The deputies had found the teens' vehicles on Sunday night as the search began to find them.
The group was located approximately two miles (3.2 km) away from the fire, according to Placer County Sheriff Office's Facebook page, adding that they were all okay.
