US-Israeli genocide in Gaza
Touching on the Israeli onslaught on Gaza, now in its 95th day, health officials in the territory have called on the United Nations to make urgent intervention to prevent a health and humanitarian catastrophe there. The officials said some two million displaced people are facing the triangle of death, namely hunger, dehydration and disease. The health ministry in Gaza says Israeli forces have killed nearly 250 civilians over the last 24 hours. That takes the Palestinian death toll since October 7 above 23,000. The regime continued to bombard central and southern Gaza. Mass casualties were reported following attacks on al-Maghazi and al-Nuseirat refugee camps and the city of Khan Yunis. The charity group Doctors Without Borders said its shelter in the city was also attacked, leaving at least four staff injured. Israeli troops also once again deliberately targeted al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital, the only remaining hospital in central Gaza.
Israel genocide case
Bolivia becomes the latest country to join South Africa in its International Court of Justice case against Israel for committing genocide in Gaza. Bolivia said the decision was in line with the country’s commitment as a signatory to the UN Genocide Convention. It hailed the case as a historic step in defense of the rights of the Palestinian people. Previously, Turkey and Malaysia also voiced their support for the case. Meanwhile, over 900 popular movements, unions, political parties, and other organizations signed an open letter calling on world states to support South Africa’s case. The statement said killing Palestinians, displacing large numbers of them and denying water, food, and medicine to an occupied population meet the criteria for the crime of genocide. The ICJ is due to hold its first session next week to hear the case.
Israel West Bank raids
Killing Palestinians in Gaza has not prevented Israel from doing the same in the occupied West Bank. The regime’s forces have killed three more Palestinians after storming the city of Tulkarm. Israeli troops killed the three young men after surrounding their house in the Aktaba suburb. The victims were 22, 23, and 24 years old. Reports say Israeli forces ran over one of the bodies before withdrawing from the area. They also kidnapped an injured Palestinian. The Palestinian Red Crescent said Israeli troops prevented their vehicles from reaching the victims. A general strike has been announced in Tulkarm on Tuesday. Israeli forces and settlers have killed some 340 Palestinians in the West Bank since October 7.
