Israeli genocide in Gaza
Israel’s relentless strikes on healthcare facilities and civilians continue in the Gaza Strip as the regime’s brutal war on the besieged territory enters its 39th day. In the latest development, Israeli airstrikes on the Jabalia refugee camp in northern Gaza claimed more than 30 lives. Scores of others have been injured in the Israeli bombardment of the camp. The regime also carried out deadly raids against the al-Bureij refugee camp in Gaza and a UN-operated school in the northern city of Beit Lahia. Palestinians say Israel is pushing ahead with its indiscriminate airstrikes across the blockaded territory.
'US abetting Israeli genocide'
Israel’s brutal onslaught against the Gaza Strip continues to draw more reactions from across the globe. Now, more than 30 civil society and faith-based organizations in the US have called on the Pentagon to halt its plans for transferring artillery shells to Israel for use in Gaza. In a letter to Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, the organizations said transfer of these ammunitions to Israel jeopardizes civilians and contravenes international humanitarian law. Meanwhile, the US-based Center for Constitutional Rights has filed a federal lawsuit on behalf of Palestinian human rights organizations. It has accused President Joe Biden, Secretary of State Antony Blinken and the Pentagon chief of abetting Israel’s genocide in Gaza. The Indonesian president, for his part, has called on the US to do more to stop Israel’s atrocities in Gaza. In a meeting with Biden in the White House, Joko Widodo said a ceasefire in Gaza is a must for the sake of humanity. The Brazilian President Lula da Silva has also taken a jab at Israel for killing children.
'Israel violating Intl. law'
Iran's Foreign Minister has strongly condemned the ongoing Israeli massacre of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip as a clear violation of all norms of human rights and international law. Hossein Amir-Abdollahian was speaking in a phone call with his Hungarian counterpart, Péter Szijjártó. Iran's top diplomat said the humanitarian situation in Gaza is deteriorating as a result of the savage crimes committed by the Israeli regime. He also stressed the need for the international community to mount pressure on the regime to immediately stop its aggression through a ceasefire and allow humanitarian aid into the besieged territory.
