Germany hypocritical approach
Iran says fighting terrorism, violence and hate speech is clear international responsibly amid the Western criticism of its response to the riots in the country. The Iranian foreign minister singled out Germany’s hypocritical and duplicitous stance on the unrest in Iran. Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said Berlin considers such scourges as red lines for itself but incites the same sinister phenomena in Iran and denounces Tehran’s legitimate campaign against them. Germany has condemned Iran and summoned the Iranian ambassador. The UK and Canada have also slapped fresh sanctions on Iran while the EU is also reportedly set to impose more bans on the country.
West exploiting Ukraine
Russian president Vladimir Putin criticizes western states’ policies, warning that they’re increasing the risk of a global conflict. Putin also accused the west of exploiting Ukraine and using its people as cannon fodder against Russia. He made the remarks during a video message to a summit of defense ministers from the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, and, a group of ex-Soviet countries. Russia has repeatedly denounced the west’s military support for Ukraine since the war began there in February. Moscow says western countries are only adding fuel to the flames of war. It says they do NOT seek to find a solution to end the conflict.
West Bank funeral
IramPalestinians hold a funeral procession for a teenager killed by Israeli forces in the occupied West Bank. 16-year-old Deyaa Erhimi was killed in a village northwest of Ramallah on Thursday. Three Palestinians were also killed and several others injured on the same day during an Israeli raid on the Jenin refugee camp. Friday was declared a day of public mourning in Jenin. Israeli forces have been escalating deadly attacks against Palestinians, killing some 150 this year alone across the West Bank. The resistance movement, Hamas, has reacted defiantly to the surge in Israeli violence. It says the regime will only make Palestinians more resolute in their resistance.
