Soft power or Ceremonial role is strictly neutral. These are some of the terms we have heard over and over again when talking about the role of Elizabeth II, who was the queen of some 32 countries during her lifetime.
Upon her death a few weeks ago, much trivia has been published about the Queen. From her love for the Corgi breed of dogs and ownership of British dolphins and swans, to details of the countless official rituals to be held for her funeral procession.
Perhaps the closest mainstream media has come to the Queens colonial rule during the past few weeks, is the discussion over the gems on her crown all of which are stolen reminders of British Colonial history.
