To discuss the humanitarian crisis in Yemen, the Swedish minister of foreign affairs, Ann Linde, met with the head of Yemen's negotiating delegation participating in peace talks in Oman's capital Muscat.
Mohammed Abdul Salam said the blockade on Yemen goes against international law and Yemenis have the right to access food, medicine, and fuel, even under the ongoing war.
Abdul Salam stated that Yemenis have welcomed any effort toward lifting the siege on their country and reaching a ceasefire.
He added that no serious steps have been taken for ending the humanitarian crisis in his country, which means no serious steps have been taken in other areas.
For weeks now, Oman's capital, Muscat, has been hosting fresh rounds of talks between the warring sides of Yemen.
So far, the talks have failed in finding a peaceful solution to the years-long Saudi war on Yemen that has pushed the country to the brink of famine.
Lifting the siege has always been the main demand of all Yemenis who are looking forward to the end of their suffering. However, they say they are afraid that the war continues, as the last round of negotiations has not yet yielded any results.
