The British government has proposed legislation that would essentially ban protesting, giving police sweeping powers to decide whether protests are justified, impose start and finish times and disband even one-person protests.
Vague criteria such as being too loud, or a nuisance are also part of the legislation. This has resulted in widespread protests all across Britain who feel the Police, Courts, Sentencing and Crimes bill violates their right to free speech and right to assembly.
Meanwhile the British government has also passed laws that would see undercover agents granted Criminal Conduct Authorizations authorizing them, as the name implies, to engage in criminal conduct including rape, murder and torture. A third bill, the Overseas Operations Bill was also just passed, providing a statute of limitation of war crimes prosecutions against British troops, effectively legalizing war crimes, torture and other crimes.
