Australian Open: Rafael Nadal tops Fabio Fognini, reaches quarters

Rafael Nadal has reached the quarter-finals of the Australian Open, after cruising past Fabio Fognini in straight sets.

The world no.2, needed 2 hours and 19 minutes to dispatch Fognini 6-3, 6-4 and 6-2 at the Rod Laver Arena.

The Spaniard hit 24 winners and Broke the Italian twice in each set, en route to booking his place in the last 8.

The 20 time Grand Slam Champion, who is bidding for a first title in Melbourne since 2009, has yet to drop a set, and kept the record intact against the Italian.

The Spaniard will next face Greek Youngster, Stefanos Tsitsipas.
