Fire burns historic church in New York

A fire in New York City heavily damaged the 19th century Middle Collegiate Church in Manhattan's East Village neighborhood on Saturday morning (December 5).

A six-alarm blaze had started in a vacant building and extended to the church. New York City Fire Department (FDNY) assistant chief John Hodgens said the fire is under investigation. FDNY reported four minor injuries among firefighters.
