I think that both political parties are deepening the bitter divisions between Americans on different sides of the political aisle, using these kinds of allegations. The Democrats essentially laid the groundwork for Trump to do this, specifically now where you see his making allegations of Chinese and even Iranian election meddling that are totally outlandish and dubious at best.

And they themselves, the Democrats laid the groundwork for this by contesting the last election for four years launching the Russia investigation. They spent four years undermining faith in the US electoral process on one side and now that's giving the Republicans the opportunity to do that and themselves here where we're already seeing the possibility that Biden's incumbency is going to be spent, you know, they're trying to dig up meddling on the part of China.

So, back and forth they're both undermining faith in the entire American electorate in the US political system which is really truly archaic. I mean if already with the Electoral College, you know the fact that it would be perfectly within legal, the Constitution for Trump if for example if he were to take a really reckless step which is something he's actually implied he would do which would be to order the electors in these contested states to just ignore the popular vote and on the 14th of this month have them appoint pro-Trump electors instead and just ignore the popular vote. The fact that that would be perfectly constitutionally legal just says so much about how the US political system is just truly obsolete, and old fashioned compared to the many other democratic systems in the world where the vote is much more direct.

And so people have already been, you know, their faith was already undermined in the US political system just based on that. And so, for both political parties to be making allegations of foreign meddling, and scapegoating other countries for the fact that the US political system is, an electoral process is truly corrupt and doesn't serve the electorate it's just going to continue to deepen the divisions between the two major parties and the American electorate.

And it's such cynical political opportunism for both parties to engage in this kind of thing. And it just shows how bankrupt both of them are in terms of being able to actually get elected legitimately and the fact that they're engaging in this sort of thing instead of actually giving the American people what they need in the midst of this, this pandemic.

You know this kind of mudslinging of allegations of meddling or being in bed with foreign actors. They have nothing else to go on. They can only rely on this kind of cynical partisan attacks and in the process, they're each undermining US public faith in the electoral process.
