Over tennis news and the French Open, Serbian Ace Novak Djokovic has defeated Pablo Carena Busta 3-1 to lock his 10th Roland Garros semifinal spot in Paris.
Djokovic came on the back of a first set loss to win the match with a score line of 4-6, 6-2, 6-3 and 6-4. Carena Busta came out firing against a rather flat Djokovic and became the first player of the tournament to take a set off him.
The Serb appeared uncomfortable throughout the early stages of the clash before winning the next 3 sets to seal his place in the last 4 after 3 hours and 13 minutes as his longest match of the tournament. The 2016 champion will meet Greek 5th-seed Stefanos Tsitsipas for a place in the finals.
Meanwhile Tsitsipas himself advanced to the French Open semi-finals after downing Andrey Rublev in straight sets.
Tsitsipas, who had lost to the Russian in the Hamburg open final last month, looked to be heading for another defeat after going down 4-2 in the opener. But the 5th seeded Greek fought back to earn it at 7-5. Tsitsipas upped his game in the 2nd set, taking it 6-2 and continued his fine run in the 3rd to grab it 6-3 and avenge his defeat in Hamburg.
