Israel-Palestinian conflict

The President of the Palestinian Authority has slammed the US brokered Emirati and Bahraini normalization agreements with Israel. In his online address to the UN General Assembly, Mahmoud Abbas also slammed the US' so-called Deal of the Century as contravention of international law and UN resolutions.

In a political breakthrough, Fatah and resistance movement Hamas have announced a deal to hold Palestinian general elections, the first in nearly 15 years. But the situation on the ground remains more of the same in the Occupied Territories. Israel is reportedly planning to build five-thousand new settler units in the occupied West Bank, with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu aiming to finalize the plan next month. Israel’s settlement projects on occupied Palestinian land are illegal under international law.

Leader, the Palestinian National Initiative, Mustafa Barghouti (Ramallah) and author and lecturer, Jonathan Fryer (London) exchange views on this issue.
