2021 Tour de France to finish a week before Olympics
The world governing body for cycling, UCI, has revealed the dates for the 2021 calendar, with the Tour de France finishing a week before the start of the Olympics in Tokyo.
The Olympic games, which were postponed a year due to the coronavirus pandemic, run from July 23rd to August 8th, with the road races scheduled for the last week of July.
To avoid a conflict, Tour de France has been scheduled from June 26th to July 18th.
The Giro d’Italia will run from May 8th to 30th while the Vuelta a Espana will be held a week earlier than normal, from August 14th to September 5th, to help transitions between the European Championships and the Road World Championships.
