Tottenham Hotspur have registered their first victory after eight matches, by beating West Ham 2-nil at home in the first London derby of the Premier League resumption.
After a scoreless first half, the Lillywhites piled up the pressure and got on the score-sheet, as West Ham mid-fielder Tomas Soucek sent the ball behind his own keeper in 65th minute.
Then, England captain, Harry Kane, completed his solo run, with a curling effort from edge of the box with 12 minutes remaining.
Spurs are still fighting for a top four place despite being nine points adrift of fourth-placed Chelsea, but the victory against West Ham could put them right back in contention.
Meanwhile, in the other Premier League match on Tuesday, Leicester suffered another setback to top four hopes, after they were held by a scoreless draw against Brighton at King Power Stadium.
