In mid-December 2019, leaders and senior representatives from over 50 Muslim countries gathered in the Malaysian capital to discuss issues concerning Muslims across the world.

Saudi Arabia didn’t participate in the summit and asked its close allies to follow suit. At the eleventh hour, Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan, who was among the initial organizers of the event, decided to send his foreign minister in his place to be the most notable absentee. Meanwhile, some media outlets in the Arab and Muslim world began criticizing the whole event against the interests of Ummah. Now after a few months after the summit, the subversive role of Riyadh has just come to light.
