The United States and China have been engaged in a trade war for over two years now. The acceleration of the ongoing rivalry between the world’s two national economies during this outbreak of COVID-19 was, of course, inevitable. Regardless of who will be the next US president, suspicion and distrust towards everything Chinese is now deeply entrenched in modern American political thought.
