Chocolate coronavirus by French baker provokes smiles

Chocolate maker Jean-François Pre shows easter eggs shaped like a novel Coronavirus, the cause of the COVID-19 outbreak, made of white chocolate coloured in black and red coloured almonds, in his shop in Landivisiau, western France, on March 7, 2020.

A chocolate shell sprinkled with red almonds - an edible representation of the new coronavirus - has been made by French chocolatier Jean-Francois Pre, who took his inspiration from a 3D model of the disease.

He has sold dozens to customers in western France's Finistere region over the last week - and he does it, he says, because "it makes them smile in these difficult times."
