Press TV UK's YouTube account has been restored

In a dramatic turnaround Google has restored Press TV UK’s YouTube account, only a day after it was suspended for unknown reasons.

As per standard practice Google hadn’t given an explanation as to why the account was suspended. The lack of accountability on Google’s part led many social media users to speculate as to whether Press TV UK’s challenge to mainstream media narratives was the reason behind the suspension.

Google 'disables' Press TV’s YouTube account without prior warning

Google has "disabled" the official accounts of Press TV and Hispan TV without prior warning.

Earlier today Press TV UK announced that it had succeeded in “forcing” Google to reverse its decision. The turnaround is widely seen as an important step in holding social media companies to account.
