In an industry where the intention is to provide sick people with life-saving drugs, one would think that integrity would not be negotiable. It appears that this notion is very wrong.
A report by ProPublica has revealed that large pharmaceutical companies are paying doctors sums of cash, in order to prescribe their drugs. The result of this practice has indicated that doctors who are receiving payments, are in fact prescribing more of a certain drug, than doctors who are not being paid by the drug companies.
