US President Donald Trump has made more false and misleading claims in 2019 than in 2017 and 2018 combined, according to a check by media.
"As of December 10th, 2019,Trump had made 7,725 false or misleading claims in the year," reported the Washington Post fact-checker as quoted by The Hill on Tuesday.
In 2017, Trump had made 1,999 false or misleading claims, and in 2018, he made 5,689. The numbers of the false or misleading claims in two years added made a total of 7,688 claims made by Trump in two consecutive years.
The Post noted that many of Trump’s recent false or misleading claims were related to his July phone call with Ukraine’s president that is now at the centerpiece of the impeachment against him.
On July 25th Trump made a phone call to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, pressing him to start investigations into former Vice President Joe Biden and his son, Hunter.
Trump has claimed more than 60 times that the whistleblower complaint about the phone call to Zelensky was inaccurate and that he did nothing wrong, according to the Post’s fact-checker database.
The Post added that Trump claimed 80 times that his phone call was "perfect" while the Washington Post fact-checker considers the claim as false or misleading.
