Flamengo of Brazil have clinched their second Copa Libertadores title in dramatic fashion, after beating defending champions River Plate of Argentina 2-1 with two late goals.
River Plate opened the scoring in front of more than 65,000 visitors at Monumental Stadium in Peru, when Rafael Santos Borre put the ball home with a clinical finish in the 14th minute.
But Flamengo fought back and finally found the equalizer in the 88th minute thanks to Gabriel Barbosa.
Then Barbosa became the hero of the night for the Brazilians, after scoring his brace and the winner, with a powerful shot in stoppage time.
The Rio giants have now won their first South American crown in 38 years.
