Iranians regard their missiles as a savior, as the defense against threats by the US and its West-Asian allies. But the US says the missile program threatens the interests of the US and its friends. Missile-manufacturing countries are somewhat a club. So what if Iran joins as yet another member? Why is that so tough for the US to swallow? And why does Iran need long-range missiles?
