The second Lego Fun Festival opened in Lima , capital of Peru, on Sept 28. The event was held in a space of 6,500 square meters, with more than four million plastic bricks placed here, families were allowed to build bricks based on their imagination, play with Lego City and Lego Friends, and enjoy the movies of the Lego characters.
Created in Denmark in 1932, the multicolored plastic bricks from Lego are recognized as one of the world-famous toys that inspires and develops creative learning skills of people.
"The Lego Fun Festival is an event for the whole family to take part in. It is the second time for Peru to host this event. It is one of the biggest events in Latin America," said Álvaro Sepúlveda, a sponsor of the festival.
With 20 playing areas, children were swimming in the pool of bricks, creating new shapes of Lego and sharing with their parents.
"Lego is a brand that has been on the market for many years, many of the parents played with those bricks when they were children, but this time, they play that again with their own children," said Álvaro Sepúlveda.
For those parents, sharing these moments with their children was priceless, and the creativity was boundless.
"The event is special to me, because my baby enjoys a lot. The bricks he plays every day are educational to him, and also teach him to be creative," said Julissa Garcia, a mother who brought her son to the event.
"Those bricks my son plays can stimulate his intelligence and make him more creative," said Cinthya Kevans, another mother.
"My grandson is a specialist in playing with Lego, so I promise him that I would bring him here to learn more about Lego," said Gilberto Montenegro, a visitor.
Children also enjoyed themselves a lot during the event. "I like playing Lego no matter how difficult they are," said Doménico Montenegro, a child who visited the event.
Apart from playing with bricks, families can also participate in various activities, including playing with the new product named Lego Boost, interacting with remote control robot, watching movies of Lego characters and resting in sofas.
During the event, visitors can see different figures which were shown at cinema and television, each of them composed of 4,000 bricks on average. A shop was also open to the visitors, part of works were created into the figures of Peruvian soccer team, which returned to World Cup after 36 years.
The event had been held in Chile and Peru, and will be held in Argentina later.
