Thousands of Argentines took to the streets of Buenos Aires on Wednesday (September 19) as they marched to the Energy ministry to demand lower service costs for utilities.

Demonstrators told Reuters working men and women are struggling to pay their bills and that they wanted to the government to roll back costs.
The government of President Mauricio Macri has been battling an economic crisis that has battered the peso currency and led to fiscal belt tightening.
In June, Argentina signed a $50 billion standby deal with the IMF that projected a 2019 primary fiscal shortfall of 1.3 percent of GDP. The deal was not enough to halt the run on the peso, which slid 26 percent in August alone, forcing Macri to re-negotiate stricter fiscal targets with the Fund.
