This edition of the program is about the UN and the influence of the US and other UNSC permanent members on the world body. It was created in1945 with a clear mission - to promote international cooperation and prevent war, but critics say the UN is weakened by the likes of Israel and Sri Lanka, which ignore its resolutions, and the United States, which has threatened member states and withdrawn from several key institutions. Secretary General Antonio Guterres himself has admitted the UN's flaws are so serious they keep him awake at night.
