In this episode Lindsey Ann German, Ben Jamal and Ebrahim Bham who had their speeches in previous programmes will answer the attendees’ questions on how to implement solidarity in action and support Palestinians. In response to the question that “what can ordinary people, people like us in the United Kingdom do? People may not have the platform like you do. What can we do?” Ben Jamal says: the key activity that we all need to be engaged and the thing is going to make a fundamental difference. External pressure on Israel through the mechanism of boycott, divestment and sanctions. The best way individuals can become involved in that process is to join organisations that are taking forward that activity. It doesn’t matter, which solidarity organisation you are joining and then look at what you can do. Lindsey Ann German adds: I think that we need to recognise that campaign is always very immediate actions but it is a long process of changing peoples’ minds and changing consciousness. Join all the organisations if you can but whatever you do, we support each other initiatives, we support all the campaigns and people priorities and that is very important. Shaykh Ebrahim Bham also says: it is a saying that hundred grabs against darkness wouldn’t make any difference with the darkness, lighting up one candle at least can make at least a dent to the darkness. So, I think whatever effort we do against injustice is something that will be counted. One of the aspects that did help South Africa was aspect of boycott, divestment and sanctions. In various fields such as sports or economically. And all of that did have a major impact with regard to dismantling apartheid in South Africa.
