US President Donald Trump’s immigration policies have not been much different from those of his predecessor, Barack Obama, yet radical forces within the Democratic Party are using everything in their power to hide this, says an American sociopolitical psychologist.

“While immigration is an important issue, the policies of Donald Trump have not been remarkably different from his predecessor Barack Obama, yet the Democratic Party leaning media has made allegations of abuse and the separation of families at the border, one of the top news stories, while there was virtually a media blackout on this issue during the Obama years,” Walt Peretto told Press TV on Sunday.

He made the remarks after a coalition of immigrant rights groups rallied outside the White House and the US Department of Justice and Homeland Security to protest the Trump administration’s policy on separating children from their parents at the US-Mexico border.

The demonstrations were among several being held on Friday across the Washington, DC, region in response to the family separation policy.

“I'm in no way defending the policies of Donald Trump, but I want to bring to light the fact that a radical political cult is operating among the Democratic Party constituency that has been significantly fueled by Trump's election in 2016,” added Peretto.

The so-called cult was being led by “the left-leaning mainstream media” and pushed for the “dismantling of a perceived patriarchy that is preventing diversity and promoting racism.”

“This sociopolitical phenomenon is further characterized by a groupthink that believes that the strong White male is essentially the core of the nation's problems and that Donald Trump represents this model and must be broken up at all costs,” he argued, noting that the group often resorted to “reverse racism” to make a case.

“While these people constantly rail against racism---they themselves are often guilty of racism by advocating a radicalized view that the period of the White male must be replaced by what they perceive as diversity. In the past, this sort of thinking was known as reverse racism” he added.

Noting that democrats wanted a dystopia that “calls for a radical reforming of society, based on a one world government that would regulate virtually all aspects of life.”
