President Trump announced the relocation of the U.S. Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem al quds on Monday as deadly clashes erupted between Palestinians protesting the move and Israeli forces at the Gaza border. According to Gaza health officials, at least 52 Palestinians have been shot dead and over 2,400 wounded by Israeli snipers who are positioned along the fence, facing the protesters. It is predicted that the US embassy inauguration in Jerusalem Al Quds next week may launch a week of violence. An Israeli police spokesperson said they are “taking into consideration the period we’re going to be in and other events, including Jerusalem celebrations and Nakba Day. There are implications around the Gaza Strip area, and of course the move with the American embassy as well. We’re talking about an intensive week,” he said. On the weekend ahead of the embassy opening, thousands of Israelis are expected to mark what they say is the city’s reunification in a “Jerusalem Day” rally. Often made up of extremist settlers, these marches pass through Muslim districts of the Old City and in previous years groups have chanted anti-Arab insults.
