Argentines took to the streets of Buenos Aires on Friday, gathering at the Brazilian embassy to support former Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva as he remains on the cusp of facing jail time.

Men, women and children chanted, sang and carried banners in support of Lula.

Former Argentine Foreign Minister Jorge Taiana said he had been condemned without proof.

And in Venezuelan, President Nicolas Maduro also offered his support of Lula, saying that the Venezuelan people stood with him.
