Four decades of enmity

The late founder of the Islamic Republic, Ayatollah Seyyed Rouhollah Khomeini, disembarks from an Air France jet on returning home after more than 14 years in exile, in the Iranian capital, Tehran, February 1, 1979.

Every February, Iran celebrates the victory of the Islamic revolution. A monumental event in Iran and the Middle East history which toppled the regime of the shah, Mohammad-Reza Pahlavi, in Iran, installed in the Anglo–American coup in 1953. A dictator.

The monarchy in Iran ended but Britain’s aggressive attitude towards the ancient nation did not end and now after almost 40 years there seems to be no prospect of change in attitude.
