Key allies of the United States in the Middle East, namely Jordan and Turkey, are reconsidering their allegiance to Washington because they feel the US has ignored their interests, says a commentator.
“We have key allies of the United States ... who are having second thought about whether to fully pledge their allegiance to the United States or actually seek their own interests via other options and this is indeed a sign of an American administration whose influence is going down at least,” Ammar Waqqaf, founder and director of GNOSOS, told Press TV on Tuesday.
A senior Iranian official has hailed a recent UN resolution on Jerusalem al-Quds, saying its approval showed a decline in Washington’s influence on the international stage.
