Toxic air pollution levels have increased significantly in Iran’s capital Tehran. Tehran’s Air Quality Index (AQI) is at least three times higher than the standard level. Primary schools in Tehran remain closed since Sunday due to heavy smog. Traffic restrictions have been ordered in Tehran and susceptible groups have been advised to stay at home. Official say pollution is expected to remain until at least Thursday.
