Australian University to promote Aboriginal culture
A University in Australia is aiming to promote Aboriginal culture in the country.
The University of Adelaide has established the National Center for Aboriginal Language and Music Studies (NCALMS) for that purpose.
The new department aims to support and preserve Aboriginal cultures, languages and traditions through a range of educational programs.
Authorities say the primary goals are to foster Indigenous excellence through scholarly achievement and student career readiness in these fields.
Program officials say ultimately, the purpose of the National Center for Aboriginal Language and Music Studies is to increase the number of Aboriginal students in the higher education sector.
