UEFA Europa League: Sparta Prague edge Southampton 1-0

Southampton have secured their place in the Knockout Stages of the Europa League, despite a 1-0 away defeat at the hands of Sparta Prague at the Generali Arena.

Zimbabwean defender Costa Nhamoinesu put the hosts ahead 11 minutes into the first half which proved to be enough to seal a 1-0 victory over the Saints.

With this result Sparta booked their place in the last 32 as Group K winners, registering 5 successive clean sheets across all competitions for the first time since September 2008.

Southampton also progressed into the next stage with 7 points while, Italian outfit Inter Milan were knocked out of the competition.
