Following the cycling news and Russia’s Ilnur Zakarin has won Stage 17 of the Tour de France while two-time champion and race leader Chris Froome extended his lead over his main rivals.
In the Swiss Alps, Zakarin finished in a time of 4 hours, 36 minutes and 33 seconds to claim his first stage win at the biggest cycling event.
Colombia’s Harlinson Pantano finished in second place with Rafal Majka back in third. Britain’s Froome ended his day in 11th.
The result saw him stretch his lead at the top of the general classification to 2 minutes and 27 seconds over Dutch Bauke Mollema, while Adam Yates is now in third.
