The Olympics is a unifying event which does not let any potential athlete to be left out. This year’s Olympic games will be the first in history to have a team of refugees.
Many wars and disasters in the world have led to growing numbers of refugees who are waiting to have their cases processed.
The International Olympics Committee announced on March 2nd that it would accept a team entirely made up of refugees.
A list of 43 potential athletes was introduced to the committee which will offer full support throughout the games. A group of around 10 sportsmen and women will make the final team to compete in the games.
