McLaren driver Fernando Alonso has been ruled out of this weekend’s Bahrain Grand Prix, due to Medical Reasons, after his frightening crash at the Australian GP.
The team said in a statement on Thursday that Alonso won’t Participate in the Race after a decision by the FIA doctors.
The World Motorsport's Governing Body announced that Doctors at the Bahrain International Circuit Medical Centre compared 2 sets of Chest CT Scans from BEFORE and after the Accident, and found it was not Safe for him to Race.
The 2-time World Champion will be replaced by McLaren Reserve driver Stoffel Vandoorn.
This comes, after Alonso's car rolled and dis-integrated after hitting a barrier in a death-defying crash in Melbourne on the 20th of March.
