Press TV has conducted an interview with Scott Rickard, a political commentator and former US intelligence linguist, and Paul Street, an author and commentator, to discuss the latest developments in the US presidential race.
Street believes that Democratic presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders should get more intense when he talks about Hillary Clinton — who has a lead over him — and the millions of dollars she has gotten from Wall Street firms.
Sanders has to get deeper and talk about how the Clintons, Hillary and Bill, are part of a disastrous turn to the big business firms in the democratic party, Street says.
“Sanders has to find a way to connect with minorities and particularly with black voters since this has been his main deficit in the primary campaign so far. Those are two absolutely critical things,” he says.
Meanwhile, Scott Rickard asserts that given Clinton’s strong base within the US establishment, Sanders has a difficult path toward getting the Democratic nomination.
“It is going to be extremely difficult for Sanders to catch up and even get close here at the end just because it is just too much of stretch for him. He has to practically win 75 percent of all the remaining delegates to even get close, and at that point, the super-delegates are very closely tied to the establishment,” he says.
Rickard also describes Donald Trump as “an uneducated and corrupt decision-maker” who cannot even lead his own personal life and should not have the right to run for president.
Rickard says Trump has been indicted several times in New Jersey and his past experiences are tied directly to the Jewish mafia in New York City. “Donald Trump is by far the worst candidate we have seen.”
