Press TV has conducted an interview with Alexander Azadgan, a geopolitical analyst in strategic global management, and Michael Lane, the president of the American Institute for Foreign Policy, to discuss Iran’s defense capabilities and the West’s reaction to the country's latest missile tests.

Azadgan says Iran has every right to develop its defense capabilities and enhance its deterrent power.

The Iranian missile program is “indigenous” and seems to be a source of pride for the country, he says.

He says Tehran tries to tell the neo-con politicians in the United States that “no matter how much you pander to your Zionist puppet masters in Tel Aviv, we are committed and this (defense capabilities) is our red-line and this is not negotiable.”

Azadgan says the West refuses to address Iran’s concerns about atomic warheads in the hands of Israeli regime, which is not a signatory to the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).

Lane, for his part, says, “There is no part of the nuclear deal [between Iran and the P5+1] that addresses the concept or the issue of ballistic missile testing.” He says, the latest missile tests in Iran send a message to Israel, Iran’s Arab neighbors, and the United States.
