The United States is “waging endless wars” and “raping” countries that seek independence from the US government and are not subservient to Washington’s interests, according to an American author and radio host.
“The problem is [that] America tolerates no independent governments,” Stephen Lendman told Press TV on Tuesday.
“It wants all governments worldwide to be subservient to US interests, to literally become US vassal states, to play by Washington’s rules and independence is the worst sin that any country can commit,” Lendman stated.
Countries like Iran, Russia, China and Syria “are all on America’s target list for regime change, to install puppet governments, subservient to US interests,” he added. “So Iran bashing continues, just the way Russia bashing and China bashing [continues] and this goes on endlessly.”
“That’s why America wages so many wars, endless wars, one after another, literally raping one country after another, nonstop,” Lendman stated.
“I can never remember a time looking back over so many years and decades that America wasn't at war with some country in some way, directly or a proxy war anywhere in the world,” the veteran analyst noted.
“Everybody knows who’s paying attention that America is an imperial power and its waging endless wars, so they shouldn’t be surprised if America launches a war against any country,” he concluded. “Its simply ingrained in the US system, whether a Republican or a Democrat sits in the White House.”
The US ambassador to the United Nations said on Monday that compliance of Iran with the nuclear agreement has been strong, but went on to call Tehran a threat to the security of the Middle East region.
"What this deal does if implemented -- and so far the implementation has been strong but it's very early days -- is it cuts off the pathways to a nuclear weapon and it gives us much more visibility into Iran's program than we had before," Samantha Power told students during a visit to Israel and the occupied Palestinian territories.
US officials have for years accused Iran of using its nuclear energy program for non-civilian purposes, claims that have never been verified despite exhaustive and unprecedented inspection regime.
Power criticized Tehran’s support for what she called parties to conflict like the government of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and the Lebanese Resistance Movement Hezbollah.
