In a parliament question time, Iran’s Minister of Education Ali Asghar Fani has failed to convince lawmakers with his answers, receiving his second official notice.

During an open session of the Iranian Parliament (Majlis) on Monday, a question was raised by Halime Aali, a female lawmaker from the eastern city of Zabol, who was critical of the 'weak management of the Education Ministry’s directors general.'

The minister's answer failed to convince the MP and was subsequently put to a general vote.

Some 99 legislators taking part in the vote were not persuaded by the response, 61 were convinced and 11 others abstained, thus resulting in another “yellow card” for Fani.

On June 24, 2015, the Iranian education minister was reinstated after securing a vote of confidence from lawmakers in an impeachment session.

Fani had been accused of failing to push the administration of Iranian President Hassan Rouhani to provide schools with necessary resources and to expand educational space in deprived areas.

He also came under fire for failing to adopt practical measures to enrich and promote the efficiency and quality of educational programs.
