London police have shot dead a man during an “intelligence-led” operation in the northern part of the British capital.
The man sustained gunshot wounds on Friday morning, when armed officers were carrying out an operation in Bracknell Close, a residential road in Wood Green, Scotland Yard said.
The Metropolitan Police, meanwhile, have said that the operation was not terror-related.
No other injuries were reported. The man lost his life shortly after paramedics and London’s air ambulance reached the scene.
The circumstances about the shooting are under investigation.
On December 5, a man launched a knife attack in London Tube. One man suffered serious injuries in the attack at Leytonstone underground station, about ten kilometers (six miles) east of central London, while a second person suffered minor injuries.
