Nevadans are signing a petition for resignation of Assembly Woman Michele Fiore over her anti-Muslim remarks, which have peaked in the United States after GOP candidate Donald trump called for a ban on the entry of Muslims into the US.
The lawmaker said on her weekly Las Vegas radio show “Walk the Talk with Michele Fiore” that she is “not okay with Syrian refugees.”
She made the comments in the wake of Paris terror attacks by Daesh Takfiris, which left some 130 dead and many more injured.
“I’m about to fly to Paris and shoot ‘em in the head myself. I am not OK with Syrian refugees. I’m not OK with terrorists,” she said in response to a question about why she had not signed her fellow Republican assemblymen’s letter the called for a review of refugee resettlement programs.
“I’m OK with putting them down, blacking them out, just put a piece of brass in their ocular cavity and end their miserable life. I’m good with that,” she said.
Nevada ‘embarrassed’
Nevadans reacted to her comments by starting an online petition that calls for her resignation as “these types of statements are not endorsed by the people of Nevada nor does Michele Fiore reflect our beliefs.”
“Nevadans are seeking for the resignation of Michele Fiore - her recent comments regarding the slaughtering of Syrian Refugees is hate speech and she should not be an Assembly Woman in our state. Nevada is embarrassed by her continued, hateful, racist and downright evil remarks,” it read.
The petition came at a time that Trump, a billionaire developer and former reality TV star, was under fire over similar remarks.
Many American and foreign authorities have denounced his comments, with the White House even saying the Islamophobic stance “disqualifies” him from running for the 2016 presidential election in the US.
