Pro-independence groups submit proposal for new Catalan State

Two pro-independence groups in the newly elected Catalan parliament have agreed on a resolution that sets the foundation for Catalonia’s independence from Spain. Spanish Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy called the agreement a provocation to Spanish sovereignty and pledged to use all legal resources to hinder the breakaway plans of the northeastern region.
