Iran men's national junior volleyball team has recorded another victory at the preliminary round of the 2015 FIVB Volleyball Boys' U19 World Championship in Argentina, routing the Bulgarian side.

On Tuesday, the Iranian squad defeated Bulgaria 3-1 (25–20, 25–14, 26–28 and 25-14) in a Pool C match held in the northeastern Argentine city of Corrientes.

Although Bulgaria opened the match, it was the Persians who got the first point. The Iranian teenagers continued to present good serves and attacks and went on earning points, before both teams went into the first technical timeout 8-5.

The set continued on a point-by-point basis after the breather, until the Iranian athletes took the lead and pierced through Bulgaria’s defense to widen the gap and enter the second technical timeout 16-10. Iranians finally grabbed the first set 25-20.

Iranian volleyball players maintained their composure after the break, and got off to an impressive start. The Bulgarians, in return, did not seem to be capitulating. Iran raced out to an 8-6 lead at the first technical timeout of the second set.

Iran’s Rasoul Aqcheli and Ali Asghar Mojarrad spiked effectively afterward, and Iranians availed themselves of Bulgaria’s individual mistakes to add to their tally, and were up 16-11 at the second technical timeout. The Iranian time won the second set 25-14 at last.

The Bulgarians, having lost two consecutive sets and fearing a straight-set defeat against Iran, began the third set energetically. Iranian juniors, however, kept on notching up points as both sides went into the first technical timeout 8-7.

The Iranians then sought to extend the deficit, but Bulgarians were tailing them point by point. Iran was 16-15 ahead at the second technical time out. The Bulgarian side ultimately pulled out to a 28-26 victory.

Young Iranian volleyball players put right their mistakes in the fourth and final set, and surged ahead to close the set at 25-14.

The 2015 FIVB Volleyball Boys' U19 World Championship began in the Argentine cities of Resistencia and Corrientes on August 14, and will finish on August 23.

Argentina was pitted against Belgium, France, Turkey and the United States in Pool A.

China, Cuba, Egypt, Italy and Mexico formed Pool B. Bulgaria, Chile, Chinese Taipei, Iran, and Poland were drawn in Pool C.

Pool D comprised Brazil, Germany, Japan, Puerto Rico and Russia.
